Audiovisual Technician

Geneva, Switzerland / Full time position

We’re looking for a proactive Audiovisual Technician to join our team in Geneva.
The Audiovisual Technician is customer focused and technology-oriented as he/she provides services for a high quality technology experience to events guests and clients. He/she is responsible for the installation, configuration and operation of audiovisual equipment in a live event setting and must therefore act in a manner consistent with the organization’s code of business ethics (confidentiality, integrity, responsibility, respect and trustworthiness)

What you’ll do

• Operate AV equipment in a live show setting
• Maintain equipment, equipment areas, spare parts, and spare part areas. Manage the stock and be able to inform the responsible party when new material is needed
• Introduce to new users the correct usage of equipment, be responsive when needed
• Be able to recommend the best tools to carry out seamless events
• Supervise new installations
• Ensure audiovisual equipment setup and test before events
• Train new users when required

The profile we’re looking for

• You possess a diploma in AV technics and first hand current experience in the events industry
• You have a proactive, customer service oriented and a positive attitude
• You are dynamic, autonomous and rigorous
• You speak fluent English and French
• You manage well stress and you can handle several projects at the same time
• You have the ability to work varied and changing schedule (nights, weekends, early mornings included)
• You possess a valid driver’s license

Junior Audiovisual Technician

We’re looking for a Junior Audiovisual Technician to act as support onsite for one of our clients.
Responsible for various conference and video-conference rooms, the Junior Audiovisual Technician helps set-up, operate and maintain all audio visual equipment as well as the maintenance and daily inspection of all field devices.

What you’ll do

• Understand and respond to clients’needs
• Perform pre-call check in all VC rooms
• Daily check of private and public meeting rooms
• Weekly check in all huddle rooms
• Detect and escalate ISDN and network issues to IT when necessary
• Introduce to new users the correct usage of equipment, be responsive when needed
• Be aware of new technologies and its implementation. Inform of new possibilities to improve communications
• Maintain equipment, equipment areas, spare parts, and spare part areas. Manage the stock and be able to inform the responsible party when new material is needed
• Be able to recommend the best tools to carry out seamless meetings
• Ensure users get acquainted with correct usage of technology and be on call during the meeting to react if any issue arises
• Supervise new installations
• Ensure audiovisual equipment setup and test before events
• Train new users when required

• You possess a technician diploma and a first experience in the events industry
• You have a proactive, customer service oriented and a positive attitude
• You are dynamic, autonomous and rigorous
• You speak fluent English and French

What you’ll do

• Main point of contact for clients on a day-to-day basis to ensure customer expectations and requirements are fulfilled
• Cultivate relations with all venue staff teams to develop on-site relationship
• Provide daily technical, administrative and logistical support to the operational and sales team of the hotel (Event, Banquets, etc.)
• Provide continued communication with customers to ensure the success their events
• Install, operate and dismantle AV equipment in a live show setting environment
• Identify opportunities to enhance clients’ events

The profile we’re looking for

• You possess a diploma in AV technics and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the audiovisual industry
• You have strong commercial assets, trade negotiations and client facing abilities, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the hotel’s environment
• You have an advanced knowledge of traditional computer tools and are willing to apprehend other software on a daily basis (stock management in particular)
• You possess effective time management skills, including the ability to multitask, to work with tight deadlines and manage high stress levels
• You have a proactive, customer service oriented and a positive “can do” attitude
• You have the ability to work varied and changing schedule (nights, weekends, early mornings might be requested)
• You demonstrate excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and present a professional demeanor
• You speak fluent English and French
